A self-taught Abstract Expressionist painter, Francesca Filanc approaches her blank canvases with a raw and powerful creative force. Her works, like the one shown here, are characterized by energetic brushstrokes of vibrant color and abstract forms. Although the title of the work suggests a specific location, the thick black lines and globs of yellow paint create a painterly scene that breaks free from any particular reality.
