This abstract piece was inspired by a transformative period in artist Stacy Collins Johnson's life, over thirty years ago, when she spent memorable time in the Rajasthan and Himalayan regions of India and Nepal. The vibrant colors of Rajasthan and the majestic natural beauty of the Himalaya have been a recurrence in her dreams throughout the years, continually providing her a sense of joy, hope, excitement, and warmth, which she wishes to share.
A lifelong artist, Stacy Collins Johnson grew up in the seaside art community of Laguna Beach, California, where she earned the prestigious Laguna Beach Festival of Arts Scholarship and as a young adult, won an art competition at the Orange County Museum of Art. After earning degrees in communications and fine art, Collins Johnson worked in advertising in San Francisco while simultaneously earning a master’s degree from San Francisco State University (SFSU) in Instructional Design Technologies. She taught multimedia studies and Graphic User Interface (GUI) design at SFSU and UC Berkeley, where she was an adjunct professor.
