Peter Hartshorn

Peter grew up in an old farmhouse in Pennsylvania with his grandfather’s art from his travels hanging in the bedroom.  After graduating from University, he went to work as a Geologist, living along with his family in Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Angola, the Congo, Brazil and some time back in the US in Texas, Florida and California.  His abstract landscapes try to capture the diversity of the locations where he has lived, be they the dark and remote areas of South America or the brightness and light of the tropics.

The painting “Remote Waterfall” attempts to demonstrate the richness and bursting force of nature from the interior of Venezuela.
