“I am Samantha Rebrovich a self-taught oil painter from Pleasant Hill, California. My creative process usually starts with a vision, or a feeling and I transform it into an intended experience of depth and exploration. My paintings tend to become their own living thing outside me. As if I am a mother birthing a child. Metaphorically my creative process is my life process. A collection of experiences that weave a story into a grand composition. I consider myself a channel, bridging the abstract and the material with a primary focus on Divine Feminine archetypes. My work has often depicted women as these Goddesses and contains heavy spiritual symbolism, mythology and connection to nature as a catalyst for embodiment of one’s purpose and consciousness. The inspiration and focus of the work are what the feminine journey looks like through the female gaze. To hopefully empower those who resonate with the art that they to have the ability to create their own story in this life. That we are in collaboration with life. I work to as well craft beautifully vibrant visual worlds that push my craft into new directions and techniques. It's my hope that people feel something when viewing my work. In today’s world we are often numbed, desensitized and shamed away from feeling, with my art I want to bring us back to ourselves. That our emotions are our power. That if we ignore them, they control our lives unconsciously. But if we embrace them, we can use them to propel us forward.”
