FEES
There is a $25 submission fee to thoroughly review the artist's work and biography. For artists who are selected into the exhibition, the participation fee is $75. This helps cover the costs of promoting the exhibition, handling and curating the artwork inside the gallery, and uploading the artists’ content onto our website and social media channels. Artists are responsible for shipping and return-shipping fees to and from the gallery.
TIMELINE
-Submission deadline: March 19th, 2025
-Selected artists will be notified between March 20th - 23rd.
-Last Day for Artists to pay the participation fee is March 24th.
-Artwork should be delivered to Art Scene West by April 4th.
-The opening reception at the gallery is on Saturday, April 5th, 2025.
-Unsold artwork can be retrieved or will be sent back beginning May 28th.
ABOUT THE CALL
Art Scene West introduces its Sports Fan Art Call, seeking fan art that celebrates sports culture and the cherished fans who make it possible. All mediums of artwork are welcomed to submit, and those pieces that embody the spirit, excitement, dedication, and thrill of the game, will be considered to showcase in our seaside gallery in downtown San Diego, California. From iconic on-field moments, nostalgic memories, stadiums, logos, mascots, players, coaches, and culture, we want to show our public the best sports fan art there is. This is an international open call.
DETAILS
- All 2D, hanging artwork must not exceed 30” on its longest side. If a piece larger than 30” on its longest side is submitted and accepted into the exhibition, an additional fee will be required to participate.
- Sculptures must not be larger than 16” high x 8” wide x 8” deep, and must not exceed 35 lbs in weight.
- Artworks will be judged only by their quality and originality, and without bias to the sport, team, athlete, city, or era.
- Art Scene West will remit 60% of the sales commission to the artist and withhold 40% for gallery expenses.
- Images of the artwork selected for the exhibition will be published online via our social media, website, and marketing.
- The in-gallery exhibition will be live from April 1st - May 27th, 2025.

Artists are encouraged to send images that will best represent the quality of their artwork to both the Art Scene West curators and its patrons. The images submitted for review will be the same used on the Art Scene West website if selected.
