“After receiving a BA in studio art from Bard College, I spent most of my adult life in NYC before recently relocating to Los Angeles. My work is figurative oil painting with an element of tongue in cheek quality to it, deriving images of figurative study from dated pop culture artifacts and bizarre exhibitionist online communities. I take a lot of influence from both pop-surrealism, classic portraiture and german expressionism, and have tried to include an element of snark and camp while rigorously exploring the formal elements of art making.”
