ABOUT THE SHOW

Art Scene West is celebrating the beauty of tradition with our 2nd annual Views Exhibition, previously titled our Land and Seascape Show. We want to put the beauty of both representational and impressionistic art on display for those who travel from far and wide to reach our gallery and awe in appreciation. If you are a master of your craft or a talented newcomer with a passion for portraying delightful views, we invite you to submit and take part in this exclusive opportunity to become part of our gallery. Whether it’s an enchanted destination, a common-yet-spectacular scene, your favorite hideaway, or even a fantastic fantasy, we invite you to take our breathe away with your unique perspective and dedication to your artistry.

DETAILS

  •   All 2D, hanging artwork should not exceed 30” on its longest side, or an additional fee will be required if the piece is invited to participate. 

  • Sculptures must not be larger than 16” high x 8” wide x 8” deep, and must not exceed 45 lbs in weight.

  • Artworks will be judged only by their quality, originality, and relevance to this call. 

  • Art Scene West will remit 60% of the sales commission to the artist and withhold 40% for gallery expenses. 

  • Artists selected for the exhibition will have their biographies and artwork images published and promoted through our social media handles and website.

  • The in-gallery exhibition will be live from June 17th - August 5th, 2025. (50 days)

TIMELINE

  • Submission deadline: May 27th, 2025

  • Selected artists will be notified by May 31st.

  • Artwork should be delivered to Art Scene West by June 15th. 

  • The opening reception at the gallery is on Saturday, June 21st. 

  • Unsold artwork can be retrieved or will be sent back beginning August 6th, 2025.

FEES

There is a $25 submission fee to thoroughly review the artist's work and biography. For artists who are selected into the exhibition, the participation fee is $75. This helps cover the costs of promoting the exhibition, handling and curating the artwork inside the gallery, and uploading the artist’s content onto our website and social media channels. Artists are responsible for shipping and return-shipping fees.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

Artists are encouraged to send images that will best represent the quality of their artwork to both the Art Scene West curators and its patrons. The images submitted for review will be the same used on the Art Scene West website if selected. 

  • Maximum 4 images of the artwork.

  • Only clear and accurate images of an artwork will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

All works of art must be an original creation of the participating artist and must be available for sale. 

RULES AND TERMS TO APPLY

Views Exhibition

Each artist submitting an artwork to be considered is in compliance with and agrees to all of the following terms of this Agreement:

  • The artwork submitted by the artist is an original creation of the submitting artist.

  • An artist’s submission shall consist of up to four (4) high-resolution digital photographs of their artwork. Filters, enhancements, manipulations, distortions, and all other kinds of image altering of the artwork are un-welcomed. 

  • The artist is at least 18 years of age and has the authority, without breaching any other agreement made by the artist, to make the submission.

  • All artwork submitted and selected shall be offered for sale throughout the exhibition, both at our gallery at 803 W Harbor drive, San Diego CA 92101, and at www.artscenewest.com.

  • Artist grants Art Scene West a 40% sales commission on the artist’s artwork(s) selected for entry in the show and sold at any time during the exhibition.

  • Artist agrees that digital photographs submitted by the artist of their artwork(s) and taken by a member of the Art Scene West staff may be used/published by Art Scene West for purposes of gallery promotion and offering such artworks for sale at Art Scene West’s online and physical gallery.

  • All fees paid by artist(s) are non-refundable.

  • Artist(s) retains all copyright ownership of their artwork.

  • Unless there is a sale of the artwork by Art Scene West during the exhibition, artists shall remain the sole owner of their artwork(s).

  • If selected for entry, the artist will be required to accept the terms of the Participation Agreement, specifying the Exhibition Terms, details for delivery of the artwork, and make payment of the participation fee through a secure portal at www.artscenewest.com.

  • Upon being notified of the selection of the artist's artwork, the artist must pay the participation fee online to verify their acceptance of the Exhibition Terms, or be ineligible.

  • Communications by the artist regarding the exhibition shall be made via email addressed to: submissions@artscenewest.com.

  • Artwork must be gallery-ready, and equipped with an adequate hanging mechanism or standing mechanism.

  • The artist agrees to pay shipping and handling fees associated with delivery of their artwork to Art Scene West, including return shipping back to their residence if the work remains unsold.

  • Artist agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Art Scene West Gallery from any claim or demand, including attorney’s fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
