Artist Bio:
Meg McKenzie Ryan received her MFA in photography from Indiana University in 1985. She and her family moved to the lower desert of California, just 10 miles north of the Mexican border. The vibrant colors that define Mexican art and life influenced her tremendously. Moving to the north county of San Diego and retiring gave her the time she needed daily to pursue painting seriously. It's been fabulous.
Artist Statement:
I love to paint. It's challenging and thought-provoking. There's no guarantee the end result will be satisfying, but trying is exhilarating. I like to work with hard forms balanced with free-form curves. Achieving that balance without needless busy additions is key.
